Favorite Songs Week Two – Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
This was a hard one. I knew it had to be either a worship song or the so called “Contemporary Christian Music” that played constantly in our home or car. It’s hard to pick one. There’s a good chance some others will creep in here. But I have to go with Fernando Ortega’s version of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.”
Fernando has one of my favorite voices, ever. His “Hymns and Meditations” album was my absolute favorite for years and years. I still listen and it’s one of my saved playlists on Spotify. It was hard not to know Fernando with his regular presence in Southern California church culture when I was growing up. I lost count of the number of times I saw him and Crystal Lewis, live. I think the last time would have been in the 1999-2001 days, while I was at college. His version of this song (as well as the song itself) were definitely in the #51 spot.
But I have a few honorable mentions. Is that cheating? Perhaps. But the world is on fire and the end of it is surely in view (lolz), so why the hell not?
Honorable Mentions . . .

This might become a Monday evening ritual (to distract me from crappy Mondays). Music Monday?
